MI FORTALEZA FAMILY COUNSELING INC.

Ana Godoy, the owner of Mi Fortaleza Inc., is a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (128445), in the beautiful state of California. Ana has been in the counseling and social work field for over 25+ yrs. and has an extensive and diverse work history.  

Ana was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Norwalk, by her immigrant parents from El Salvador. At the very young age of 15, Ana became a teen mother and experienced some challenges with making the most out of that trying situation. Through a spirit of resiliency and much support from friends and family, Ana was able to turn the experience into a springboard towards empowerment. She is now a Masters level licensed psychotherapist serving clients in Northern and Southern California. 

Ana's work history includes a 24 years long social work career with the regional center system where she became very familiar with the complexities that caring for a developmentally disabled loved one can present. She has also provided counseling services to other populations to include court ordered cases, children within the state foster care system, college counseling, community clinic therapy, facilitating parent and caregiver support groups and most recently, leading psychoeducational groups for incarcerated individuals in a California state prison. Ana is bilingual and throughout her career, has used her Spanish speaking ability to ensure equal program access to all her clients. 

Ana has worked with individuals at many points in their own journeys towards emotional healing and transformation.  Ana is able to make an impact in others lives via her relatability, use of stories and lived experiences, compassion, humor and an approach based in reality therapy. Ana considers her work a gift, an honor and a great responsibility, to be able to support others in maneuvering their own challenges and returning to the peaceful and meaningful life they deserve.
